How do I book a Lesson?
Go to the contacts section of our web page and then either contact us via text, call, Facebook message or email to arrange a lesson. All lessons must be booked in advance. Please do not arrive for a lesson or to have a look around without speaking to us first.

What should I wear?
We recommend wearing long and comfortable trousers (track pants, jeans etc), shorts are not comfortable for riding in. A comfortable t-shirt is ideal and it can get quite cold here so we recommend you bring a jacket!
If your coming for a whole day camp we recommend you also bring a change of clothes in case you get wet or muddy, a raincoat and in summer when it is hot bring a pair of shorts that you can wear when not riding.
Do not wear baggy loose fitting clothing that could get caught, no loose jewelry should be worn that can get caught (necklaces, hoop earrings etc) all piercings should have small studs or be covered by a band aid while riding. If your hair is long a low pony tail is recommended and no hair clips or bobby pins as these are not safe under a helmet.

Do I need to buy boots and a helmet?
We have a selection of boots and helmets that you can borrow for your first few lesson. We recommend that if after a couple of lessons you think horse riding is your sport then we recommend purchasing your own helmet and boots as this is more comfortable.
Helmets should not be purchased second hand and should be purchased from a reputable store (Horseland and Urban horse wear in Moonah are both good locations to shop) as this is the only way to guarantee a helmet has not been damaged (a helmet should be replaced after each impact). Boots need to be specific horse riding boots (horse riding boots are designed to keep your foot from getting stuck with a smooth sole and small heel)

I already have my own helmet can I wear it? Or what do I need to know when buying a helmet?
You are welcomed to wear your own helmet but all helmets must meet Equestrian Australia guidelines. The helmet must be within 5 years of manufacture and must be the correct code standard (check your standards here: https://www.equestrian.org.au/content/current-approved-safety-standards-helmets )
Helmets should sit down on your forehead above your eyes and be comfortable, it should not move if you shake your head.

What will I do when I get there?
When you get to Kyalami Equestrian you will know your in the right place as the sign on the gate says so :) park in the turning circle and then walk following the wooden fence line to the stables, there should be someone there to meet you and get you started.

How do I pay?
You can either pay in cash or direct deposit (just ask for our bank details), we do not have Eftpos currently.

I'm nervous about riding is that ok?
Yes that is totally fine! we are very used to people who are excited but also nervous about horse riding and so are our horses! We have lots of horses to suit lots of different riders so please just let us know honestly what your ability is and how your feeling and we can then match you with the best horse or pony.
